Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Hon. Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, has called for stronger regional cooperation among African cashew-producing countries to build a competitive, value-added and resilient industry.
Speaking at the closing ceremony and Gala Dinner of the 2026 African Cashew Alliance (ACA) Conference and Expo in Accra, held from September 15-18, she urged producers including Côte d’Ivoire, Benin, Nigeria, Tanzania and Mozambique to collaborate as partners, not competitors.
She disclosed the Government’s commitment of approximately US$200 million to tree-crop production, with cashew expected to benefit significantly.
Hon. Ofosu-Adjare also commended the Tree Crops Development Authority and the Ministry of Food and Agriculture for convening stakeholders across the value chain.
