GOD GIVES YOU A PASTOR — YOU DON’T APPOINT YOURSELF TO ONE

Many believers make the mistake of thinking that whenever they are offended, corrected, misunderstood, or disappointed, the answer is to leave and find a Pastor of their own choosing. Many believers make the mistake of thinking that whenever they are offended, corrected, misunderstood, or disappointed, the answer is to leave and find a Pastor of their own choosing. Yet Scripture paints a different picture.

1. GOD ASSIGNS PASTORS TO PEOPLE.

“And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.” (Jeremiah 3:15)

Notice the language of Scripture: I WILL GIVE YOU.

God did not ask for your opinion before assigning your Pastor. Just as He gives Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors, and Teachers, He also determines where and through whom you will be fed.

The question is not, “Which Pastor do I like?”

The question is, “Which Pastor has God given me?”

2. OFFENCE IS NOT A LICENSE FOR REBELLION.

Hagar had genuine complaints against Sarah. She was mistreated. She was wounded. She had reasons to leave.

Yet when God found her in the wilderness, He did not validate her escape. He instructed her to return and humble herself.

Many believers want God to approve their departure without first requiring reconciliation, humility, and proper order.

Your Pastor may not be perfect. They may have weaknesses. They may make mistakes.

But your response to imperfection must never become rebellion.

Never become so focused on correcting your Pastor that you neglect the destiny attached to your obedience.

3. SOMETIMES GOD USES IMPERFECT LEADERS TO TRAIN YOU.

David served under Saul..a king who was jealous, unpredictable, and often unjust.

Yet David understood something powerful: God had placed him in Saul’s environment for a reason.

Before David could sit on a throne, he had to learn how a kingdom functioned.

Before God promoted him publicly, He trained him privately.

Many people leave the very place God intended to use as their classroom.

Not every difficult season is a sign to move. Sometimes it is a sign to mature.

4. EVERY MINISTRY NEEDS SPIRITUAL COVERING.

One of the greatest deceptions of this generation is the belief that gifting eliminates accountability.

No ministry is exempt from spiritual authority.

No singer.
No worship leader.
No Pastor.
No Prophet.

If your spiritual authority cannot be traced, your spiritual safety cannot be guaranteed.

The people God uses most powerfully are often the people who have learned submission most deeply.

Never forget this:

God blesses what He orders.

When you honour divine order, you position yourself for divine favour.
