Residents of Kumasi have been left astounded following an incident where a family reportedly abandoned the casket of a deceased relative in a bush, allegedly refusing to proceed with the burial.
An eyewitness reported that family members claimed the deceased had spent numerous years abroad and rarely returned home or engaged in family and community affairs.
According to the witness, the relatives contended that since the deceased neither visited the village nor maintained ties with the family during his lifetime, they could not conduct his burial in the family’s name after his passing.
