Management of Ghana Water Ltd has announced that the Weija Water Treatment Plant is currently facing technical challenges, resulting in reduced water production and distribution to several parts of western Accra.
According to the company, the situation has caused erratic water supply and low water pressure in a number of communities. Areas expected to be affected include Dansoman, Mamprobi, Mataheko, Laterbiokorshie, Korle-Bu, La Paz, MacCarthy Hill, Gbawe, Mallam, Tesano, Darkuman, North Kaneshie, Dome, Achimota, Anyaa, Ablekuma and surrounding communities.
Management assured the public that engineers and technical teams of Ghana Water Ltd are working diligently to resolve the challenges and restore normal water supply as soon as possible.
Residents in affected areas have been advised to store water anytime supply is available in order to manage the temporary disruption.
