Hon Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor has clarified that reports claiming Kwame Ohene Frimpong was travelling to the United States before his arrest in Amsterdam are f@lse.
According to him, the Asante Akyem North MP was on a private trip to the United Kingdom.
“The Honourable Member was on a private visit to the United Kingdom,” Dafeamekpor said during an interview on Joy FM.
He explained that the MP regularly visits London because his wife and children live there.
He also clarified that the legislator travelled on a KLM flight, not Delta Airlines as widely reported.
Parliament earlier confirmed that Kwame Ohene Frimpong had been detained at Schiphol Airport in the Netherlands. Leadership of the House is currently engaging Ghana’s mission in The Hague for more details on the matter.
