A woman who visited a fetish priest for treatment and spiritual help has been sent to asamando, according to a statement released by the police at a press briefing in Accra on May 12, 2026.
The Director-General of the Criminal Investigation Department, Lydia Yaako Donkor, said investigations showed the v!ctim had previously sought herbal treatment from the suspect over a swollen leg condition.
According to COP Donkor, the woman later returned to the suspect on March 4, 2026, seeking spiritual protection for her business.
“After consultations at his shrine, the suspect all3gedly lured her into a nearby bush under the pretext of collecting herbs,” she stated.
Police say the suspect then att+cked the woman and k!lled her before dismember!ng the body and hiding the remains.
“He att+cked her from behind with a cutlass, k!lled her, dismembered the body, and concealed the remains in the bush before taking parts away,” COP Donkor disclosed.
The CID boss further revealed that parts of the v!ctim’s remains were transported to the Volta Region.
According to her, the suspect later admitted to the cr!me during interrogation and told investigators where the v!ctim’s head had been b,uried.
“During interrogation, the suspect admitted to the offence and disclosed that he had b,uried the deceased’s head at Mafi Avedo in the Volta Region,” she said.
