The flooding situation in the communities has deteriorated, resulting in substantial hardship for numerous families and disrupting essential services.
Affected Schools: Bekpo Sonukpo Basic School has been closed due to severe flooding. The school park of Adutor R/C Basic School is entirely submerged, and areas behind Adutor E.P. Basic School have also been inundated.
Health Services Affected: The Adutor Health Centre, along with its two staff bungalows, has been flooded, adversely impacting healthcare delivery in the area.
Communities Severely Impacted: Residents of Tsawoeme are encountering serious challenges, with some buildings collapsing and the access road being cut off. The Agordome Sonukpo Road and surrounding communities are heavily flooded, with water covering extensive sections of the area. The South Tongu Health Directorate and the Municipal Chief Executive have visited the affected communities over the past two days to assess the extent of the damage and engage with residents.
A Call for Support: The situation is beyond what some affected families can manage independently. We appeal to individuals and families who have available space—a room, veranda, or any safe shelter—to assist those displaced by the floods.
This is an opportunity to embody the true Adutor spirit of unity, compassion, and community support.
Let us continue to pray for the floodwaters to recede. Please remain safe, check on your neighbors, and pay special attention to our children, the elderly, and other vulnerable individuals.
