While certain African governments spend years attending donor conferences to solicit development funds, Captain Ibrahim Traore of Burkina Faso has recently inaugurated three modern toll stations valued at 17.4 billion. This achievement was realized by a nation that expelled foreign military forces, reclaimed its gold mines, and chose to rely on its own capabilities.

The Faso Mebo model—building with available resources and local expertise—is yielding visible results, including roads, highways, and now toll stations. Burkina Faso is not seeking external validation, and Captain Ibrahim Traore is gradually transforming the entire system.

This is the Africa we aspire to achieve.
