The Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mubarak Mohammed, has confirmed the dismissal of several recruits from security service training schools after verification by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) revealed allegedly forged and doctored WASSCE results.
According to the Minister, the affected recruits have been expelled from their respective training programmes as part of measures to safeguard the integrity of Ghana’s security services.
He further disclosed that those dismissed will be placed on a “red list,” permanently barring them from applying to join any national security service in the future.
The Minister added that individuals found to have deliberately forged their academic credentials could also face criminal prosecution.
This forms part of a broader crackdown on misconduct within the security service recruitment process, following other disciplinary actions including the dismissal of recruits for violating mobile phone bans during training.
