On Tuesday, 8th September, 2026, the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Asuogyaman, Hon. Godwin Bobobee, convened a Town Hall Meeting at Fintey aimed at strengthening community engagement and promoting quality education.
The meeting brought together pupils and teachers of Fintey Methodist Primary School and Fintey Junior High School, Assembly Members, opinion leaders, officials from the Asuogyaman District Assembly and representatives from the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO).
The occasion was graced by traditional leaders, including Queen Mothers Mama Afibaa Agbovi V, Mama Baloe II, Mama Amewome II, Mama Alorvi II, Mama Neyi II, and Mama Nyave VI. Their presence underscored the strong collaboration between traditional authorities and the District Assembly in advancing community development.
In his address, Hon. Bobobee reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to supporting education as a key driver of development in the district.
In a major boost to teaching and learning, the DCE donated *1,000 exercise books, 1,000 pens and 1,000 pencils* to the two schools. He further presented *100 mono desks* to Fintey Methodist JHS to help address furniture challenges facing the school.
The gesture was warmly received by school authorities, pupils and community members.
The Queen Mothers commended Hon. Bobobee for the initiative, describing it as timely and impactful, and noted that such interventions will go a long way to improve academic work and encourage school enrolment in Fintey.
The event highlighted the DCE’s vision of empowering the youth through education while deepening the partnership between government, traditional leadership and the local community.
