The Headmaster and staff of Bimbilla Senior High School in the Northern Region are calling for increased security following alleged threats by some former students to attack the school and destroy its property.

The threats are reportedly linked to the students’ poor performance in the recently released 2026 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).

In an audio recording circulating on social media, some former students are allegedly heard threatening to harm staff and vandalise school property. They reportedly blame school authorities for preventing them from engaging in examination malpractice, including copying during the WASSCE.

The Headmaster has expressed concern over the safety of staff and students and has called for urgent security intervention.

The matter has since been reported to the police, who have increased surveillance and security presence on the school campus.

The development comes shortly after the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) released the provisional 2026 WASSCE results, with thousands of candidates having their results cancelled or withheld over various examination irregularities.
