_“And Elisha said unto her, What shall I do for thee? tell me, what hast thou in the house? And she said, Thine handmaid hath not any thing in the house, save a pot of oil.” – 2 Kings 4:2_
Before God blesses you, He asks you what you have.
1. GOD STARTS WITH WHAT YOU HAVE, NOT WHAT YOU LACK
The widow focused on what she didn’t have. Elisha focused on what she had.
Stop saying “I have nothing.” You have something. A small skill, a small idea, a small contact, a small capital, a pot of oil. God never created you empty.
_Your miracle is hidden in your little._
2. YOU MUST HELP YOURSELF FIRST
Before someone can help you, you must show what you are doing with what you have. No one wants to invest in an empty hand that is closed.
The woman had to bring out her pot of oil first.
_People help those who are already helping themselves._
3. GOD DOES NOT GIVE YOU A NEW THING, HE MULTIPLIES WHAT YOU HAVE
Elisha didn’t go to the market to buy oil for her. He multiplied her own oil.
You are praying for a new business while you have abandoned the small one. You are praying for new helpers while you despise the little connections you have.
_Be faithful with the little pot of oil. God will make it overflow._
4. YOUR HOUSE IS YOUR STARTING POINT
Elisha said “what hast thou IN THY HOUSE?”
Your house is your talent, your education, your voice, your phone, your experience. Don’t look outside first, look inside.
_The solution to your problem is closer than you think. It is in your house._
5. NEVER DESPISE YOUR POT OF OIL
– David had a sling.
– Moses had a rod.
– The boy had five loaves and two fishes.
– This widow had a pot of oil.
All of them looked small, but God used them to write history.
_What you call small is what God will use to make you great._
*Final Thought:*
God asked, “What do you have?” He didn’t ask “What do you need?”
Because what you have is the seed for what you need. Bring your pot of oil. God will do the increase.
