JUAPONG, Volta Region – Blessing Furniture, one of Juapong’s leading woodwork companies, has dismissed rumors that it imports furniture to sell in Ghana, insisting that all its products are 100% locally manufactured at its workshop.
The company, known for producing a wide range of woodwork including coffins, dressing mirrors, dinner tables, wardrobes, beds, and office furniture, says it is committed to promoting local craftsmanship and job creation.
“Everything Is Made Here By Our Hands”
Speaking to _The Daily Newsflash_, the company’s Marketing Manager, Ame, set the record straight.
“All the items we sell are produced by ourselves right here at the workshop in Juapong. None of it is imported from outside the country,” Ame said.
He added that because of the quality and finishing of their furniture, some customers assume the prices must be high.
“Because of the quality, people think it will be too expensive to afford. But that’s not true. Our items are quality and affordable. We want every Ghanaian to be able to buy good furniture.”
Training The Next Generation Of Carpenters
Beyond sales, Blessing Furniture is also investing in skills development. The company runs an apprenticeship program where it trains young men who want to become carpenters, and provides free accommodation to trainees.
“We believe in building people, not just furniture,” Ame stated. “A lot of youth are looking for jobs. If you learn a skill, you can work for yourself and employ others too.”
Advice To The Youth
Ame urged young people not to rely only on certificates.
“Education is good. But the youth should also involve themselves in skill training. Skills give you independence. With your hands, you can eat.”
Industry watchers say businesses like Blessing Furniture are critical to the government’s “Made in Ghana” agenda, helping to reduce imports, retain money in local communities, and create jobs.
Blessing Furniture says it welcomes customers across the country and is open for both retail and bulk orders.
