FRANKADUA – The District Chief Executive for Asuogyaman, Hon. Godwin Bobobee, has urged Ghanaian youth to embrace resilience, self-discipline, and skill acquisition as keys to building a bright future.
Addressing the graduation ceremony of RETCA School Complex at Frankadua, Hon. Bobobee said while government has a duty to provide resources for the youth, young people must also take responsibility for their choices.
> “The role of the government is to put up the necessary resources that will support and assist the future of the young ones. But it is also the role of that young boy or girl to re-examine themselves and resist illicit drugs and intimacy,” he said.
The DCE noted that many youth fall into social vices because they refuse to correct their mistakes and learn from them.
> “Life is about resilience. If you make a mistake, you need to correct it. No one is perfect. In this journey of life, there will be errors, but when an error is made, there should be a correction,” he stated.
Hon. Bobobee said his message was inspired by a Class 2 pupil who, while reciting a poem, made a mistake but courageously said, _”Sorry, I will take it again.”_ He described the pupil’s attitude as a lesson for all.
He also encouraged the youth not to give up when they fail in one area, but to explore other opportunities.
> “If you fail in one aspect of your life, you can do another thing by learning a skill to build your future,” he added.
Speaking on the theme: _”The future is bright, it’s colorful, we are in a hurry to get there,”_ the DCE charged students to stay focused on education and discipline.
In a surprise announcement, Hon. Bobobee pledged to take full responsibility for the school fees of the Class 2 pupil who recited the poem.
Parents, teachers, and dignitaries present commended the DCE for his message and gesture.
