Odumase Krobo – [16th July,2026]
The Odumase Krobo Circuit Court has sentenced 32-year-old Hondana Mensah, a French language teacher, to 12 years in prison for defiling a 12-year-old student.
According to court records, the incident happened at the teacher’s home during an extra classes session.
Prosecution told the court that Mr. Hondana, who was also the victim’s class teacher, threatened to fail her in her end-of-term examinations if she told anyone about the abuse.
The court found him guilty and handed down the 12-year jail term.
The ruling has been welcomed by child rights advocates who say it sends a strong signal against sexual abuse in schools.
