The Member of Parliament for North Tongu and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, says President John Dramani Mahama* has already boosted his 2028 political prospects.
Hon. Ablakwa made the comment during the sod-cutting ceremony for the 24-Hour Market at Juapong in the Volta Region, where President Mahama was the special guest.
In his address, President Mahama praised Hon. Ablakwa, describing him as “one of the hardworking MPs I have” and added that “North Tongu is happy to have such an MP.”
“He Has Done My 2028 Campaign For Me”
When it was his turn to deliver the vote of thanks, Hon. Ablakwa responded to the President’s endorsement.
“President Mahama has done my 2028 campaign for me by acknowledging me as one of his hardworking MPs in my constituency,”he said to cheers from the crowd.
The Foreign Affairs Minister also used the opportunity to clear rumours that he was stepping down from politics.
Focus Remains On Government Work
Hon. Ablakwa said his immediate priority is to support President Mahama and the government to deliver on the reset agenda, while continuing to serve the people of North Tongu.
The sod-cutting for the Juapong 24-Hour Market forms part of government’s efforts to boost trade, create jobs and grow the local economy in the Volta Region.
