The Ghana Police Service has escalated its enforcement efforts against the unauthorized use of sirens, horns, strobe lights, improvised headlamps, and the illegal utilization of road shoulders and verges within the Ashanti Region. This specialized operation, conducted at the Airport Roundabout and Santasi Roundabout in Kumasi, was executed by the Ashanti Regional Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) with the assistance of the Central MTTD from Accra and a team from the National Headquarters.
During this initiative, a total of 188 vehicles were intercepted for various traffic violations. Unauthorized devices and improvised headlamps were confiscated, while drivers received education and warnings regarding compliance with the Road Traffic Regulations. The Ghana Police Service is committed to continuing similar enforcement operations nationwide to enhance discipline, safety, and order on the roads.
