Former Black Stars player Charles Taylor has expressed his dismay at being left stranded in the United States following the Ghana Football Association’s (GFA) failure to fulfill its commitments during the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Taylor stated that GFA President Kurt Okraku had invited him to the World Cup, assuring him that, as a Ghana football legend, he would receive adequate support and enjoy the tournament.
However, Taylor claims that the GFA did not provide funding for his return ticket, resulting in his current predicament without financial resources.
He further mentioned that he had to solicit assistance from strangers to secure a ticket to attend Ghana’s World Cup match against England, as the promised support did not materialize.
Additionally, Taylor alleged that both Kurt Okraku and Sports Minister Kofi Adams disregarded his attempts to seek help.
