A 37-year-old woman, believed to be mentally challenged, has been apprehended in Obuasi, located in the Ashanti Region, on suspicion of stealing money, clothing, and other valuables from local residents.

The individual allegedly entered a residence while all its occupants were attending a funeral.

Upon their return, the residents discovered that several of their belongings were missing.

The reportedly stolen items included a bag containing cash from a mobile money vendor, clothing materials, and other personal possessions.

The suspect was subsequently apprehended following a search.

Some members of the community assert that this is not the first instance in which the woman has been accused of theft, alleging her involvement in similar incidents in the past.

Could she be feigning illness as some are known to do? If not, is it possible for her to be prosecuted in a court of law considering her condition?
