Some youth in the Akatsi South Municipality have received free practical training in grilling, food safety and hygiene, and business development.
The programme was organised by Delmark Agro in collaboration with the Mastercard Foundation under the theme “Empowering Young People with Practical Skills to Create Sustainable Livelihood Opportunities.”
CEO of Delmark Agro, Mr. Edem Ackuaku, said the initiative is aimed at equipping young people with practical skills that can be turned into sustainable businesses and livelihoods.
The Municipal Chief Executive for Akatsi South, Mr. Daniel Dagba, urged the youth to take skills development seriously and stay away from drug abuse, which could destroy their future.
He said such training opportunities should be used as a foundation to establish businesses, create jobs and contribute to the development of the municipality.
Participants were trained in practical grilling and food preparation, food safety and hygiene, and business development, and were awarded certificates after the training.
Some beneficiaries expressed satisfaction with the programme, describing it as timely and useful for starting their own income-generating ventures.
The initiative forms part of Delmark Agro’s broader efforts to support youth and farmers with entrepreneurial skills in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation.
