ATWIMA MPONUA – Two persons have been remanded into police custody for allegedly setting a colleague farmer ablaze at Seikrom near Debra Camp in the Atwima Mponua District of the Ashanti Region.

A few days ago, a farmer identified as Kwame Frimpong, popularly known as Burger, 44, was allegedly set ablaze by two persons after he was accused of stealing an amount of GH¢1,000 at Seikrom.

The victim, who is currently battling for his life, says his condition is severe and the cost of treatment is huge. He has therefore appealed to Ghanaians to come to his aid.

Meanwhile, the Assemblyman for the Sereso Ayinasa Electoral Area, Hon. Kwabena Tawiah, has seized the opportunity to advise residents not to take the law into their own hands but to report domestic cases to opinion leaders, including the chief, Assemblyman, and committee members.

Three people have been arrested in connection with the alleged assault. Two have been remanded into police custody by the court, while one person has been granted bail.

Police investigations continue.
