John 2:7 – “Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim.”
MORAL LESSON
Sometimes God has a great plan for us, He has given us a promise, but He is also waiting for OUR move.
Yes, you want a miracle. Yes, He has promised you. But God always wants us to be PARTAKERS of the miracle we are expecting from Him.
Think about it: With all the power Jesus had, He could have filled those pots with wine directly from heaven. But He didn’t. He said, “YOU fill the waterpots with water, then I will turn it into wine.”
Your part comes before His part.
As believers, we have a role to play and God has His role. But our problem is, we want God to do everything. Yes, He CAN do it all, but good things don’t come easy without work.
God told Abraham, “Go to a land I will show you and I will bless you.” But when Abraham got there, he had to work hard, dig wells, tend flocks to see the promise.
Yes, prayer is good, but after prayer, WHAT NEXT?
You are praying for a job but you have not submitted a single application.
You are praying for financial breakthrough but you sleep all day.
You are praying for marriage but you are not working on your character.
God does not work like that.
While we are waiting for opportunities, we must also BE an opportunity to others.
Every man and woman blessed by God worked hard towards their achievement. No lazy man ever sustained a miracle.
Christians, let’s be honest: We pray all week without working. We need money, but the little we get, we use to run from one prayer camp to another all week. No!
Prayer is powerful, but prayer without action is just noise.
*SO WHAT SHOULD WE DO?*
1. PRAY, THEN ACT: After you pray, get up and work. Faith without works is dead.
2. DO YOUR PART FIRST: Fill your pot with water first. Write that application, learn that skill, save that small money, work on your character. Let God meet you at your effort.
3. STOP BEING A SPECTATOR: Don’t just wait for a miracle, participate in your miracle. God turns WATER into wine, but He will not turn an EMPTY pot into wine. Bring something for Him to bless.
4. BE DILIGENT: The Bible says, “The hand of the diligent makes rich.” Your diligence is the pot, His blessing is the wine.
Stop asking God to fill an empty pot you refused to carry.
Carry it, fill it, and watch Him turn it into wine!
