Text: Numbers 13:31-33 – “And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it. But the men that went up with him said, We be not able to go up against the people; for they are stronger than we. And they brought up an evil report of the land… saying, The land… is a land that eateth up the inhabitants thereof; and all the people that we saw in it are men of a great stature.”
MORAL LESSON
The main enemy here was not the giants in the land. It was the FEAR in their hearts.
Because of fear, many people have reached their promised land but they cannot possess it. God has already placed His promise before you – that job, that business, that degree, that marriage, that land to build – you are already there, you can see it, but fear is stopping you from possessing it.
Some of us allow WHAT WE SEE to cripple us. Some allow WHAT WE HEAR to block our inheritance.
The ten spies saw the same land Caleb and Joshua saw. But fear gave them a different report. They came back with an EVIL REPORT: “We are not able. They are stronger than us. We are like grasshoppers.”
Sometimes the majority will tell you it’s impossible. Ten people said “We can’t,” only two said “We can.” The majority is not always right.
What you need is the SPIRIT OF CALEB – the spirit of faith. Faith says “We are WELL ABLE to overcome it!” Faith overcomes every fear.
There are people who are blessed to build houses, establish great businesses, further their education, and do mighty things for their community, but because of fear, they are just marking time in one place. They are at the border of their blessing, but fear won’t let them cross.
SO WHAT SHOULD WE DO TO OVERCOME FEAR?
1. Silence the Evil Report. Stop listening to people who have never built anything but are experts in telling you why you will fail. If you keep hearing “You can’t,” you will start believing “I can’t.”
2. Develop the Spirit of Caleb – The Spirit of Faith. Faith doesn’t deny that giants exist. Faith declares that your God is bigger than the giants. Say it loud: “LET US GO UP AT ONCE, FOR WE ARE WELL ABLE!”
3. Possess What You See. God will show you, but you must take it. Possession requires action. Don’t just admire the land from afar. Take a step. Register that business, buy that block, submit that admission form, write that proposal.
4. Remember Who Promised You. It was God who promised the land. If He promised it, He will give you the power to possess it. Your ability is not in your size, but in His promise.
Stop seeing yourself as a grasshopper. You are well able. The land is yours, but fear must die for you to possess it!

5 STRONG PRAYER POINTS
1. Prayer Against The Spirit of Fear: Father, every spirit of fear that makes me see giants in my promised land, that makes me see myself as a grasshopper, I command you to die by fire now. I receive the spirit of boldness and a sound mind, in Jesus’ name.
2. Prayer To Silence The Evil Report: Oh Lord, every evil report and negative voice speaking against my destiny, my business, my education and my progress – be silenced. I reject every voice that says “you cannot make it,” in Jesus’ name.
3. Prayer For The Spirit of Caleb: My Father, baptize me with the Spirit of Caleb – the spirit of faith and courage. Lord, anoint me to say “I am well able” and give me the grace to go up at once and possess all that You have promised me, in Jesus’ name.
4. Prayer To Possess My Possession: Every promised blessing, land, business, promotion, and opportunity that I have been seeing from afar but fear has prevented me from possessing – by faith, I arise and possess you now. I take action and take what is mine, in Jesus’ name.
5. Prayer Against Stagnation At The Border: O God, I refuse to mark time at the border of my breakthrough. Every power holding me at the edge of my blessing, release me now. I cross over from fear to faith, from grasshopper mentality to giant-killer mentality, in Jesus’ name.
