DAILY NEWSFLASH – Six men have been hospitalized following an accident at Biremso on the Accra-Kumasi Highway, where a Toyota Corolla plunged into the Birim River.
The incident occurred on Tuesday, August 18, 2026. The Bunso Fire Station of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) received a distress call at 09:04hrs. A team led by ADO II Dacosta Amankwah was dispatched at 09:06hrs and arrived at 09:11hrs.
An eyewitness said he heard a loud crash and found a black Toyota Corolla, registration number GR 1425-18, submerged in the river.
Before the GNFS team arrived, members of the public had rescued all six male occupants and rushed them to the *Hawa Saviour Memorial Hospital* for treatment. No deaths were recorded.
The vehicle was completely damaged and some personal belongings were recovered from it.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
