The Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) has directed all tertiary education institutions to stop using entrance examinations as a mandatory requirement for admission.

According to GTEC, the practice is inconsistent with Ghana’s approved admissions framework*.

The Commission says institutions must align with the nationally approved admission criteria and processes already in place.

GTEC has urged all universities, colleges and other tertiary institutions to comply immediately to ensure fairness, transparency and uniformity in admissions across the country.
