President John Dramani Mahama today commissioned the new Akatsi North District Police Headquarters in Ave-Dakpa, the district capital.
The state-of-the-art facility was unveiled in the presence of the Volta Regional Minister, Hon. James Gunu, Volta Regional Police Commander, DCOP Mr. Acolor, DCE Hon. Bless Katamani, and MP Hon. Peter Nortsu-Kotoe.
Other dignitaries present included Minister for Roads and Highways, Hon. Governs Kwame Agbodza, Hon. Edem Agbana, Hon. Fiifi Kwetey, Akatsi South MCE, Hon. Dagba, traditional chiefs, security officials and residents.
Speaking at the event, President Mahama described the commissioning as a major step toward strengthening security, improving policing and enhancing public safety in Akatsi North and across the Volta Region.
The ultra-modern headquarters is expected to provide better working conditions for officers and improve response time to emergencies in the district.
