Public Health Nurse Mrs. Sussana Atanga is urging health workers to go back to the basics of care.
Her message: Give patients your full attention.
Mrs. Atanga says nurses and other health professionals must maintain eye contact, provide emotional support, and reduce phone use during consultations.
“Patients deserve to feel seen and heard, not ignored while we scroll,” she noted.
She believes that small gestures of empathy and focus can greatly improve patients’ experiences of care in hospitals and clinics across the country.
