The Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod) has partnered with Ghana Water Limited (GWL) to undertake a GH¢8.4 million water systems rehabilitation project aimed at improving access to safe and reliable water for communities across the country.
The project will focus on the repair, upgrading, and expansion of existing water infrastructure to address challenges of leakages, low pressure, and aging pipelines in selected areas.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, officials from both institutions described the partnership as a strategic move to support government’s efforts to achieve universal access to potable water and improve public health outcomes.
The Managing Director of Ghana Water Limited noted that the collaboration will enhance service delivery and reduce non-revenue water losses. GoldBod officials also emphasized that the investment aligns with its corporate social responsibility mandate to contribute to national development beyond the gold sector.
Work on the rehabilitation is expected to commence in the coming weeks.
