Former Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan has expressed his discontent with the Black Stars’ performance following their 1-0 defeat to Colombia in the FIFA World Cup Round of 32.

In a post-match analysis on DStv, Gyan characterized Ghana’s display as “below average,” indicating that the team exhibited a lack of urgency throughout the match.

“Today’s performance was below average; there was no sense of urgency. We (Ghana) did not have sufficient presence in the box,” he stated. He also commended Colombia for their resilience, despite having taken the lead.

“Colombia was ahead but continued to fight for additional goals. In summary, Colombia deserved the victory.”

Gyan’s remarks resonate with the disappointment felt by many Ghanaian fans following the Black Stars’ exit from the tournament.
