Ho Teaching Hospital (HTH) wishes to extend its heartfelt gratitude to the members of the public who consistently share their experiences and offer constructive feedback on the services we provide. We deeply value every comment, suggestion, and concern, as they contribute to enhancing the quality of care we deliver.

We acknowledge the recent concerns raised regarding delays experienced at our Outpatient Department (OPD). We sincerely apologize to all clients who were inconvenienced and express our gratitude for their patience and understanding.

At Ho Teaching Hospital, we are steadfastly committed to providing patient-centered, safe, and high-quality healthcare.

Over the years, we have consistently delivered quality and timely care to millions of patients who have entrusted us with their healthcare needs. While we take pride in this accomplishment, we also recognize that occasional operational challenges can impact service delivery.

On Thursday, 25th June 2026, the Hospital encountered technical difficulties that significantly hampered our registration and patient flow processes, resulting in longer-than-usual waiting times. Additionally, the unavailability of a Specialist on the scheduled clinic day (Wednesday) necessitated the rescheduling of the clinic to Thursday. This led to an unusually high patient turnout, placing additional pressure on our OPD services.

Hospital Management has already initiated several interventions aimed at enhancing efficiency, reducing waiting times, and improving the overall patient experience. These measures include:

1️⃣ Reviewing the scheduling of selected specialist clinics, with plans to extend certain clinics into the afternoons and weekends to alleviate congestion.

2️⃣ Establishing a One-Stop Satellite OPD at the Accident and Emergency Unit to complement existing OPD services and enhance access to care.

3️⃣ Strengthening our queue management systems to improve patient flow, streamline registration, and reduce waiting times.

4️⃣ Reviewing staffing arrangements during peak periods to ensure adequate personnel are available where they are most needed.

5️⃣ Enhancing patient navigation through improved directional signage, customer care support, and clearer communication to assist clients in locating the appropriate service points with ease.

We also appreciate the valuable suggestions received from the public regarding patient education, directional guidance, queue management, and staff deployment. Such feedback is an integral part of our continuous quality improvement efforts and helps shape the services we provide.

We encourage all clients who require assistance upon arrival at the Hospital to approach our Customer Care Officers or any member of staff, who will be pleased to provide guidance and direct them to the appropriate service points.

We thank the public for their continued confidence in Ho Teaching Hospital and for recognizing the dedication and hard work of our staff, who remain committed to serving the people of the Volta Region and beyond.
