A gentleman, believed to be in his 50s and commonly referred to as Akpefuadu, tragically lost his life after being electrocuted during a funeral on the Akatsi–Xavi Road, following the heavy rainstorm that occurred yesterday.

Eyewitnesses report that the deceased was taking shelter under a canopy when strong winds caused it to become airborne. It is alleged that the canopy made contact with a nearby building or an exposed electrical wire, resulting in it becoming electrically charged.

The victim, who was reportedly barefoot and standing on the wet ground, suffered electrocution. Bystanders attempted to assist him but were unable to do so until personnel from the Electricity Company arrived to disconnect the power source. He was subsequently transported to the hospital, where, regrettably, he was pronounced deceased.

The precise cause of the electrocution is anticipated to be determined by the appropriate authorities.
