The Sefwi Bodi Circuit Court has imposed a sentence of five years imprisonment with hard labour on a 55-year-old individual, William Gyamfi, also known as Kwasi Manso, for the violent assault of his sister at Sefwi Abrokofe in the Juaboso District of the Western North Region.
The court was informed that the convict attacked his sister, Akua Agyeiwaa, aged 50, during an altercation on January 17, 2026, resulting in severe injuries after he allegedly inflicted stab wounds to her eyes.
Following the incident, William Gyamfi was apprehended and brought before the court to face charges related to the assault.
After numerous hearings, His Honour James Mensah Donkor, presiding over the Sefwi Bodi Circuit Court, rendered a guilty verdict, sentencing him to five years imprisonment with hard labour.
Superintendent Isaac Otsin, the Juaboso District Police Commander, confirmed the conviction and remarked that it reflects the collaborative efforts of the police and the judiciary in upholding justice and maintaining law and order in the region.
He further issued a caution to the public, particularly men, against engaging in violent conduct, emphasizing that perpetrators will be dealt with firmly under the law.
