A segment of the NDC Women’s Wing in Awutu-Sanya East (Kasoa) has conducted a demonstration, urging the leadership of the NDC to remove their Constituency Chairman, Mr. Ofosu Agyare, following a leaked audio recording where he allegedly claimed to have had an intimate relationship with MP Naa Koryoo.
The following details have emerged:
1. In 2020, Naa Koryoo, who was unmarried at the time, approached Constituency Chairman Mr. Agyare, a prosperous businessman, seeking political assistance to contest the parliamentary primaries.
2. Chairman Agyare provided support with the underlying intention of taking her as his second wife.
3. However, after she was unsuccessful in the 2020 elections, she was nominated to lead the Party for 2024. Naa Koryoo declined his marriage proposal, revealing she was already in an arranged relationship.
4. She subsequently married Mr. Yussif Yunusah of NDC-USA.
5. Feeling deceived, Chairman Agyare harbored deep resentment, though both parties managed to temporarily reconcile their differences to secure victory in the 2024 elections.
6. After the elections, factionalism intensified. The Chairman’s camp accused the MP’s husband of attempting to dominate local appointments in the constituency.
7. In January 2026, Chairman Agyare filed a defamation lawsuit against the Constituency Youth Organizer, his deputy, and six other branch executives.
8. King Eric, a member of the Central Regional Communications Team and a loyalist of Chairman Agyare, was arrested following a heated WhatsApp argument.
9. Reports indicate that Naa Koryoo is currently supporting a rival candidate to challenge and remove Chairman Agyare in the upcoming internal elections.
10. Chairman Agyare has reversed his decision and is now contesting as the Parliamentary Candidate.

12. According to the women who demonstrated today, the Chairman has released an audio recording stating that a woman he has been intimate with cannot bluff him.
13. The women’s wing expressed anger over the development, stating that he should not have disclosed such private matters publicly.
