The Ghana Plastic Manufacturers Association (GPMA) is urging the government to postpone the planned nationwide ban on Styrofoam products from 2027 to 2030. According to the association, a phased transition would allow manufacturers, businesses, and consumers enough time to adapt to alternative packaging solutions while protecting jobs and investments within the industry. The group believes a gradual approach will ensure environmental goals are achieved without causing major disruptions to the economy.
