The Queen Mothers of the Dorfor Traditional Council, led by Togbe Kokloko Ananze T XIII, on Sunday, June 14, 2026, paid a courtesy call on the Volta Regional Minister, James Gunu, at the Volta Regional Residency in Ho.

The visit formed part of efforts to strengthen collaboration between traditional authorities and government in promoting development, preserving cultural values, and addressing the needs of communities within the Dorfor Traditional Area.

During the meeting, the Queen Mothers commended the Minister for his leadership and the numerous development projects being undertaken across the Volta Region, noting that the initiatives are contributing significantly to the socio-economic transformation of the region.

The delegation also used the occasion to discuss matters relating to community development, women’s empowerment, youth advancement, cultural preservation, and the need for continued partnership between traditional institutions and government to improve the welfare of the people.

In his remarks, Hon. James Gunu expressed appreciation to the Queen Mothers for the visit and for their unwavering commitment to the development of their communities. He acknowledged the critical role traditional leaders, particularly Queen Mothers, play in promoting social harmony, protecting cultural heritage, and supporting local development initiatives.

The Minister encouraged the Queen Mothers to continue serving as ambassadors of peace and unity within their communities and to work closely with government agencies and other stakeholders in advancing development. He reiterated the Regional Coordinating Council’s commitment to partnering with traditional authorities to accelerate progress and improve the living conditions of residents across the Volta Region.

The meeting ended on a cordial note, with both parties reaffirming their commitment to fostering stronger collaboration aimed at promoting peace, preserving cultural identity, and advancing sustainable development throughout the region
