His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama has formally inaugurated the Ghana National Research Fund (GNRF), thereby fulfilling a significant commitment outlined in the manifesto.
The GNRF extends beyond being merely an academic fund; it serves as a strategic national instrument aimed at enhancing productivity, fostering industrialization, promoting innovation, and supporting sustainable development. By funding research that aligns with national priorities and bolsters scientific capacity, the Fund is poised to contribute substantially to Ghana’s socio-economic advancement.
To ensure its sustained operation, the Government, through the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund), has allocated seed capital amounting to GH¢100 million.
On behalf of the Ministry of Education and the Ghana National Research Fund, the Minister of Education, Honorable Haruna Idrisu, expressed profound gratitude to President Mahama for his steadfast support and leadership in actualizing this significant national vision.
