This is the reality of the people of Sutapong Kube, on the major road connecting Aketewiah to Sumui in the Eastern Region of Ghana.
This bridge — over 100 years old— has now become a death trap. The soil beneath has been washed away, the structure is badly damaged, and every passing day puts the lives of innocent people at risk.
This road serves several communities and is a major route connecting:
📍 Asesewa
📍 Somanya
📍 Koforidua
📍 Begoro
📍 Kumasi
📍 Accra
… and many villages in Upper Krobo.
Farmers, traders, school children, pregnant women, and drivers use this road daily with fear and uncertainty. One heavy rainfall or overloaded vehicle could lead to a heartbreaking disaster.
The painful part is this:
💔 The people have cried for help for years.
💔 Promises have been made, yet nothing has changed.
💔 Lives are still at risk every single day.
Today, I am using my voice to call on:
👉 The Government of Ghana
👉 The Member of Parliament (MP)
👉 The District Chief Executive (DCE)
👉 Ministry of Roads and Highways
👉 NADMO
👉 All relevant authorities
PLEASE, this situation needs *urgent intervention*. Let us not wait until lives are lost before action is taken.
Development should not only happen in cities while rural communities suffer in silence. The people of Upper Manya Krobo deserve safe roads too.
I urge everyone seeing this post to SHARE until it reaches the right authorities.
A human life is more valuable than delayed attention.
