JUAPONG – July 22nd 2026

Market women at Juapong are expressing concern over dwindling sales and loss of customers following the relocation of the market to a new site.

The traders say the move has severely affected their businesses, with many losing their regular clientele. They added that the situation has worsened due to inadequate trading spaces at the new location.

According to some of the women, they have not been allocated any space to sell, while those who have been given spaces complain that the areas are too small to accommodate their goods.

In an appeal to authorities, the market women are urging the government to fast-track the completion of the 24-Hour Market Project. They believe returning to the completed facility will restore patronage and improve trading conditions.
