The Volta Regional Minister, Hon. James Gunu, has officially received and distributed relief items from the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) to the Municipal and District Assemblies across the twelve districts impacted by the recent floods in the Volta Region.
The relief items were presented by Mr. Pascal Agbagba, the Volta Regional Director of NADMO, as part of the Government’s emergency response initiative aimed at supporting flood victims and alleviating the hardships caused by the disaster.
During the handing-over ceremony, Hon. Gunu commended NADMO for its prompt response and reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to ensuring that the relief items are distributed efficiently, transparently, and equitably to all affected individuals.
He emphasized the Government’s dedication to assisting impacted communities and providing the necessary support to help families recover from the devastating effects of the floods.
The ceremony was attended by Hon. Richmond Edem Kpotosu, the Member of Parliament for Ho Central; Hon. Mawutor Agbavitor, the Volta Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC); Municipal and District Chief Executives; and Municipal and District NADMO Directors from the affected areas.
Additionally, the Regional Minister appealed to individuals, corporate organizations, faith-based organizations, non-governmental organizations, and other stakeholders to enhance the Government’s efforts by contributing relief items and other forms of assistance to support affected families.
He expressed optimism that through collective support, solidarity, and shared responsibility, the Volta Region would overcome the challenges presented by the floods and rebuild stronger, more resilient communities.
