The Volta Regional Minister, James Gunu, had the honor of delivering the keynote address during the Volta Regional observance of the National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving, held at the OLA Assembly Hall in Ho, under the theme, “Resetting Our Values to Build the Ghana We Want.”
This notable event was attended by heads of departments and institutions, commanders from the security services, members of the clergy, traditional leaders, civil and public servants, students, and other distinguished guests, including the Ho Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Stephen Adom; the Ho West District Chief Executive, Hon. Profer Dussey; and the Administrator of the District Assemblies Common Fund, Mr. Michael Harry Yamson.
In his address, Minister Gunu called upon all Ghanaians to exemplify integrity, discipline, patriotism, and selfless service, asserting that the Ghana we aspire to create can only be achieved through a collective commitment to resetting our values and adhering to ethical conduct. He referenced Scripture, specifically 2 Chronicles 7:14 and Proverbs 14:34, to underscore that national transformation begins with righteous living and a sincere return to God.
A particularly impactful moment during the service was the donation of all collected offerings to the Cured Lepers Village in Ho, illustrating that our faith must be demonstrated through love, compassion, and tangible support for those in need.
As we conclude this day of prayer and thanksgiving, let us all remain steadfast in embodying the values that will cultivate a stronger, more united, and prosperous Ghana.
