Mahama Donates Six Months’ Salary to Support MahamaCares Fund

President John Dramani Mahama has honored a commitment made during the launch of the Ghana Medical Trust Fund, commonly referred to as MahamaCares, by donating six months of his basic salary to support the endeavor.

Additionally, government appointees have contributed one month of their basic salaries, resulting in a total donation of GHS 6,102,737.80. This contribution was officially presented to the Fund on Monday by Nana Oye Bampoe Addo.

Upon receiving the donation, Adjoa Obuobia Darko-Opoku expressed gratitude for the support and commended the dedication demonstrated towards assisting Ghanaians in need of specialized medical treatment.

During the presentation, Nana Oye Bampoe Addo reaffirmed the government’s commitment to aiding citizens facing severe health challenges. She also urged individuals, institutions, and corporate organizations to contribute to the Fund to ensure its long-term sustainability and impact.

The MahamaCares initiative was established to provide financial assistance to individuals grappling with critical and specialized health conditions, with the objective of alleviating the financial burden of costly medical care on affected families throughout Ghana.
