On Tuesday, 16th June 2026, an inter-circuit arts and culture festival was successfully conducted at Juapong Methodist Basic School. This year’s competition featured three circuits: Juapong Circuit A School, Juapong Circuit B School, and Torgotme Circuit.
The festival was an unforgettable occasion, showcasing a variety of performances, including drama, dance, music, and cultural displays.
The event was organized under the theme “Culture Education: Nurturing and Preserving Ghanaian Values.” It attracted significant attention from staff across the circuits, parents, and learners, highlighting a shared commitment to prioritizing cultural values.
The primary objectives of this year’s celebration were as follows:
1. To promote awareness and appreciation of Ghana’s rich cultural heritage among learners and the community.
2. To instill Ghanaian values such as respect, honesty, discipline, hard work, unity, and patriotism in the younger generation.
3. To provide a platform for learners to showcase their talents through cultural performances, traditional music, dance, drama, poetry, and folklore.
4. To encourage the preservation and transmission of indigenous languages, customs, traditions, and cultural practices.
5. To strengthen national identity and foster unity in diversity among learners from different cultural backgrounds.
6. To promote cultural education as an important tool for character formation and holistic development.
7. To encourage creativity, confidence, teamwork, and leadership skills among participants.
8. To deepen collaboration between schools, parents, traditional authorities, and the community in preserving Ghanaian culture.
9. To identify and develop talented learners who can represent their circuits, districts, and regions at higher cultural events.
10. To create awareness of the role of culture in national development and the preservation of Ghana’s unique identity for future generations.
Overall Objective:
To utilize cultural education as a means of nurturing responsible citizens and preserving Ghanaian values, traditions, and identity for sustainable national development.
The event was honored by the presence of distinguished personalities, including representatives from the district education office and the School Improvement Support Officers (SISO) of the participating circuits. Their attendance highlighted the significance of celebrating culture as a fundamental aspect of development and educational values.
Rev. Frank Sesi, the SISO for Juapong Circuit B School, expressed heartfelt gratitude to all teachers, learners, parents, media houses, and stakeholders whose presence and support contributed to the festival’s resounding success.
