The District Chief Executive for Central Tongu, Honorable Addison Dodzi Mornyuie, convened with the Chief Executive Officer of the Community Water and Sanitation Agency (CWSA), Mr. Vincent Senam Kuagbenu, at the Agency’s Head Office to engage in further deliberations regarding the water situation in Central Tongu.
During the meeting, the challenges faced by the residents in accessing potable water throughout the district were thoroughly discussed. Concerns were raised that the prevailing situation poses a risk to the vision and objectives for which the water system was originally established under the leadership of the late President, Professor John Evans Atta Mills.
In response, the CEO recognized the gravity of the issue and promptly invited his engineering team to join the meeting. He instructed them to collaborate closely with the Regional Office to identify and implement sustainable solutions to address the problem.
Mr. Kuagbenu further assured the community that the pumps procured by the Government from Austria are expected to arrive the following week and will be installed as swiftly as possible. Additionally, he directed his engineers to provide two hundred (200) household water meters to facilitate new household connections across the district.
The CEO demonstrated a strong commitment to resolving the water challenges facing Central Tongu once and for all, and there is optimism that these interventions will bring much-needed relief to the residents.
Also in attendance at the meeting were Ing. Emmanuel Jonas, Dr. Emmanuel Quansah, Mr. Bismark Siabi, and the Deputy CEO, Mr. Nuhu Patiaha.
