The Chairperson of the Parliamentary Select Committee on Security and Intelligence, Hon. Dr. Zanetor Rawlings led the Committee in an engagement with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Joint Mission Team from the Crisis Bureau and the Regional Bureau for Africa at Parliament House on key peace and security concerns affecting Ghana and the wider sub-region.
The discussions focused on Security Sector Reform (SSR) and the implementation gaps affecting reform efforts, Maritime Domain Awareness and its importance to regional stability, as well as Youth, Peace and Security, and the need to meaningfully involve young people in peacebuilding and conflict prevention efforts.
As the nature of security threats continues to evolve, sustained collaboration, preventive action, and inclusive governance remain essential to safeguarding peace and stability across our region.
