Former Municipal Chief Executive for Keta, Emmanuel Gemegah, has said there are no official records confirming the existence of a University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS) Keta Chapter on the municipality’s reclaimed lands.

Speaking on the matter, Gemegah stated that, to the best of his knowledge, no documentation validating the alleged project was part of the official handover notes he received during his tenure.

“To the best of my knowledge, there is no official documentation confirming the alleged existence of a University of Health and Allied Sciences Keta Chapter on the reclaimed lands,” Gemegah said.

He stressed that he would not lend credence to claims about projects that were not formally established and documented.

“I will not bear false witness or support claims regarding a project or arrangement that, in my view, was never formally established,” he said.

Gemegah added that if such documentation exists, it was not included in the records transferred to his office while he served as MCE.

The statement comes amid public discussion in Keta over the proposed establishment of a UHAS chapter in the area. The University of Health and Allied Sciences has not issued a public confirmation of a Keta campus as of press time.
