UHAS continues to distinguish itself as one of the leading health institutions in Ghana and across Africa. This university is not only producing highly skilled professionals for our healthcare system, but is also contributing significantly to research, innovation, and national development.

As many of you know, UHAS is a proud legacy and child of the NDC government under the visionary leadership of the late President Professor John Evans Atta Mills and President John Dramani Mahama. For us as a government, UHAS remains a strategic national institution, and we will continue to do everything within our power to make this university more comfortable, more competitive, and better positioned to serve Ghana and the international community.

Government is aware of the challenges confronting the university, including infrastructure deficits, access roads, accommodation, and the need for enhanced learning facilities. During the 2nd Session of the 10th Congregation, I assured management, staff, and students that these concerns have not gone unnoticed, and government is actively working towards addressing them.

Work is currently underway towards the completion of the UHAS Multi-Purpose Laboratory Complex, which when completed, will become the largest multi-purpose medical laboratory facility in West Africa. This facility will serve students, researchers, and scientists not only from Ghana but from across the sub-region and beyond.

I have also personally engaged the Minister for Roads and Highways concerning the road network within and around the university enclave. I am happy to inform you that assessments have been carried out, and construction works are expected to commence soon to improve accessibility and create a better environment for teaching and learning.
