The District Court 1 in Ho, presided over by His Honour Albert Annor-Owusu, Esq., has convicted 1st accused Thomas Kotoku alias “Kush”, a Keke/Pragya rider in Ho, on his own plea.

He was charged on two counts of conspiracy to commit crime to wit stealing, and stealing.

The court fined him 1,000 penalty units (GH¢1,200.00), with orders to pay GH¢3,000.00 for the stolen phone and GH¢2,000.00 for the cash in the bag. In default of payment, he is to serve 12 months’ imprisonment with hard labour.

The Court further cautioned the 3rd accused Abubakar Musah and ordered him to enter into a six-month bond to be of good behaviour.

A bench warrant was also issued for the arrest of another Pragya rider popularly known as “Browser” to face the full rigours of the law.

The presiding judge further remarked that the conduct of the 1st accused Thomas was socially and morally unacceptable and should not be encouraged in society, particularly the conduct of some Pragya riders within the Ho Municipality.
