Asuogyaman District Assembly Commissions Multiple Educational Projects In A Single Day

On Monday, 15th September 2026, the Asuogyaman District Assembly, led by Hon. Godwin Bobobee, District Chief Executive (DCE), commissioned two major educational projects in the district. Distinguished personalities attended the ceremonies, including Hon. Thomas Nyarko Ampem, Member of Parliament for Asuogyaman Constituency and Deputy Minister of Finance; Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, Minister for Education; education officials from the Eastern Region and the District; government representatives; and traditional leaders (Nananom).

South Senchi Project

At South Senchi, officials inaugurated a newly completed six-unit classroom block. The facility includes:

– Six modern classrooms
– A 7-seater WC toilet facility
– A Head Teacher’s Office with a washroom
– A Staff Common Room with washroom
– A fully equipped Computer Laboratory
– A Store Room

During the event, Nana Gyan Oduro Dapaa II conferred the honorary title “Otumposie” — meaning “the vibrant one” — on Hon. Bobobee, in recognition of his unwavering commitment to the development of Asuogyaman. Hon. Bobobee also appealed for the construction of a new Senior High School and a University to serve the people of Akwamu.

Tortibo Project

Later in the day, at Tortibo, a three-unit classroom block with an office and store room was commissioned. Addressing the gathering, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu assured teachers that a new Teacher’s Quarters would be constructed in 2027 to improve their living and working conditions. He further emphasized President Mahama’s vision for district development, noting that 80% of the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF) has been allocated directly to Assemblies to accelerate local growth.
