DAILY NEWSFLASH – President John Dramani Mahama yesterday inspected the Saglemi Housing site and announced new timelines for its completion.
According to the President, developer LMI Holdings will complete 700 housing units by March 2027 and finish the first phase of 1,500 units by December 2027.
Originally planned as 5,000 affordable homes under former President John Evans Atta Mills, the project stalled for years and suffered extensive vandalism.
The Government says it is now completing the project through a private partnership model.
The estate is expected to serve families and workers along the Tema-Dawa corridor, with improved road and railway links to the Tema Port to ease transportation.
The Government also disclosed that GH¢500 million has been allocated for District Housing as part of a broader national housing programme.
