DAILY NEWSFLASH – Hon. John Dumelo, MP for Ayawaso West Wuogon, has issued a stern warning to the youth of Akatsi over the rising threat of drug abuse in the municipality.
Speaking during a visit to Akatsi Green Villa, the actor and politician expressed grave concern over the growing misuse of substances among young people. He specifically cited addiction to tramadol, marijuana, and “Red” — a mixture of tapentadol/codeine — as major concerns.
Hon. Dumelo urged the youth to stay away from illicit substances, stressing that drug dependency poses a direct threat to their health, career ambitions, and the overall development of the region.
Community leaders and local stakeholders have also called for stronger public health interventions and increased youth sensitization programs across the Volta Region to curb substance abuse.
